Description

This is an introductory course focusing on the description, prevention, and mitigation of common salmonid diseases and related biosecurity procedures.

Learning Outcomes

This course will enable participants/workers to:

  • Monitor aquatic animal health
  • Adopt proper biosecurity procedures
  • Recognize disease symptoms, report possible disease concerns, and identify methods to mitigate diseases
  • Undertake standard disease prevention measures as part of fish husbandry practices
  • Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Plans
  • Understand the importance of on-farm reporting and follow proper procedures
