Description

This is an introductory course designed to enable students to develop a fundamental understanding of land-based salmonid rearing systems, including recirculating, re-use and flow-through aquaculture systems.

Learning Outcomes

To enable course participants to:
  • Become familiar with the structure and operation of recirculating, re-use, and flow-through systems within an aquaculture facility
  • Gain exposure to the daily and weekly activities necessary to maintain fish in recirculating and flow-through aquaculture facilities
  • Carry out critical calculations required to successfully operate an aquaculture facility
