Description

This is an introductory course designed to provide students with an awareness of marine confined space issues and to familiarize them with a selection of specialized equipment required for safe entry into confined spaces.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify marine confined spaces, related hazards, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Conduct atmospheric testing, monitoring, and equipment calibration.
  • Apply safe entry procedures including hazard assessment, controls, and permits.
  • Select and properly use respiratory protection such as SCBA and SABA.
  • Utilize and inspect safety equipment and PPE for safe entry and rescue.
