Description

This course is designed to present participants with an understanding of the role of government in Northern and Indigenous Fisheries Management, Canadian Integrated Fisheries Management, fisheries science, access and allocations, licensing, monitoring and compliance. The 24-hour course will be delivered on-line over 8 weeks. The online course will be asynchronous with some online sessions delivered synchronously when student participation is required.

Testimonials

Asynchronous: Learners are expected to review all posted learning materials – primarily the narrated slideshows, supporting lecture notes and additional resource material. This will comprise 50% of the overall evaluation and will be based on participation parameters tracked by the Brightspace platform.

 

Active Participation: participation in the weekly discussion of topics covered. Evaluation of this participation will be based on a qualitative participation rubric considering elements such as frequency, content and clarity of postings.
