Description

This course is intended for senior personnel (Master and experienced senior officers) engaged in escort tug operations in Placentia Bay that involve berthing and un berthing and at specific locations. The course will focus on scenarios that represent more challenging or emergency situations. The operation will be conducted in a full mission ship simulator with various realistic environmental conditions of winds, waves and currents.

Learning Outcomes

The student will be able to:
  • To enable participants to undertake maneuvering of a Voith Schneider escort tug in challenging scenarios that could occur outside of normal operating conditions.
  • To enable participants to identify maneuvering techniques and practices to utilize during escort operations.
  • To provide participants the opportunity to practice or enhance their ship handling skills under realistic conditions using a full mission bridge simulator.
