Description

This course is designed to prepare individuals training to become a Second-Class Engineer, Motor Ship or Steamship for writing Transport Canada’s Naval Architecture – 2NAR exam.

Learning Outcomes

  • To provide students with required Naval Architecture knowledge from IMO Model Course 7.02 and TP 2293E (Version 8) in preparation to challenge the Naval Architecture – 2NAR Transport Canada examination.
  • To provide students with the problem-solving skills required to perform calculations important for stability.
  • To provide students with the knowledge and skills to sketch and understand ship construction and ship arrangements.

Prerequisites

Candidate must be at least 18 years of age

Notes

The student must achieve a minimum mark of 60% on the final exam and a minimum course mark of 60% to pass this course.
