Description

This course is designed to give workers/participants an understanding of the importance of basic farm safety practices and procedures. It includes Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), accident incident reporting, hazards related to various farm systems and activities (e.g. boating, loading and harvesting systems, storage), and safe work procedures.

Learning Outcomes

To enable the worker/participant to:

  • Outline the structure of Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • Identify hazards related to working on an aquaculture site and describe methods of controlling them.
  • Outline the procedure for accident/incident reporting.
  • Contribute to making the workplace a safer environment.
