Description

This course is intended for personnel engaged in moving, mooring, control room operations and watchkeeping in FPSO’s. The topics covered include port departure, approaching and holding pattern while connecting to the mooring system site, maintaining control and heading during shuttle tanker operations, and emergency disconnect (quick release) from turret system.

Learning Outcomes

  • To demonstrate FPSO departure from berth with tug assistance
  • To demonstrate holding FPSO in position, with tug assistance, while moorings are being run
  • To illustrate the principles of Dynamic Positioning (DP) and how DP is used with respect FPSO operations
  • To demonstrate heading control of FPSO in conjunction with weather vanning
