Description

This training and assessment course comprises steering simulated ships under various environmental conditions and speeds, including slow speed manoeuvring, as well as navigating at the support level for bridge personnel.

Learning Outcomes

The student will be able to:

  • Steer the ship by communicating standard helm orders.
  • Demonstrate the appropriate skill level of steering as required by each criterion level.
  • Demonstrate the appropriate confidence level for helmsmen and navigate at the support level for bridge personnel.
  • Perform steering procedures to the required level.
