This preparatory course provides the deck officer with an in-depth knowledge of the theory and practice needed to safely navigate a vessel. This training is designed as a preparatory course to help you build the knowledge and competencies required to attempt the Transport Canada certification examinations. A preparatory course does not replace the official Transport Canada exams; rather, it supports your learning, helps you understand the required subject matter, and prepares you to meet Transport Canada’s standards and expectations.

Please note that the official certification examination must still be written directly with Transport Canada.
