This preparatory course is designed to provide participant with the knowledge and skills necessary to use the International Code of Signals, extract a variety of necessary information from the Canadian Publications Radio Aids to Marine Navigation and Notices to Mariners – Annual Edition, send and receive signals by Morse light, and use IMO’s Standard Marine Communication Phrases.

A preparatory course does not replace the official Transport Canada exams; rather, it supports your learning, helps you understand the required subject matter, and prepares you to meet Transport Canada’s standards and expectations.

Please note that the official certification examination must still be written directly with Transport Canada.
