Description

This course is designed to provide DP trainees working on shuttle tankers with the knowledge and skills required to undertake the DPO Specialization Exam “Shuttle Tank” and become DP certified for offshore loading operations.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course the student should:
  • Have acquired a thorough knowledge of the various types of Offloading Operations, including OLS (Offshore Loading System), SAL (Single Anchor Loading) and Tandem Loading from FPSO's and FSU's.
  • Have the capability to operate the DP System in various modes associated with offshore loading operations i.e. Joystick, Auto Position, Approach, Weather Vane.
  • Have the ability to carry out Offshore Loading Operations according to field procedures, guidelines and to best practice.
  • Have the ability to react correctly to any unforeseen DP incidents

Prerequisites

  • Dynamic Positioning - Preparation & Start Courses or Dynamic Positioning - Induction & Simulation Courses
  • Offshore Loading Phase 2 Course.
  • A minimum of 270 hours DP experience or 6 full operations. (This can be reduced to 180 days or 3 full operations, if a DPO Experience course (5 days) has been completed.)
